LaughLab was a huge scientific experiment to discover
the world's funniest joke. LaughLab was created by Dr. Richard Wiseman (University of Hertfordshire) in collaboration with
the British Association for the Advancement of Science.

The provisional finding is that around 47,000 people thought a joke involving Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson and a stolen
tent is the funniest story so far.

Sherlock
Holmes and Dr Watson are going camping. They pitch their tent under the stars and go to sleep. In the middle of the night
Holmes wakes Watson up: "Watson, look up at the stars, and tell me what you deduce."
Watson: "I see millions of stars
and even if a few of those have planets, it's quite likely there are some planets like Earth, and if there are a few planets
like Earth out there, there might also be life."
Holmes: "Watson, you idiot, somebody's stolen our tent!"

The Thomas More Institute was founded in Montreal
59 years ago-with 90 students enrolled in 6 courses-with the aim of providing opportunities for lifelong learning and liberal
education for adults. Thomas More Institute
Last year, over 500 students participated in 39 courses (52 sections) at 19 locations (including the West Island &
downtown Montreal). The majority of TMI students participate in courses uniquely on the basis of their curiosity about a specific
question and their wish to expand the horizon of their understanding.
